Early this year I gave myself a wish list of sorts and reading Harry Potter was one of them. I’ve put off reading Harry Potter for the past 10 years even when continually told that I should read it by people close to me. I don’t even think I’ve ever sat to watch a complete Harry Potter movie either.
[First Five] of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone :
- Quite similar to the movie so far
- The descriptive details are much more interesting in the book
- I like Hagrid
- It is a smidge childish but I’ve been told it gets darker as I progress with the series.
- I do enjoy the magical wizardry and the overall oddness
In all likelihood, I won’t write a formal review of these books.. They’ve been blogged about countless times already. It just seems like the whole Harry Potter thing is so commercialised. I am however hoping to get to know Harry differently after I’ve read the books. I can feel I’m going in a little hesitant and I can’t quite put my finger on it as to why.
