Apparently I’m pretty gifted at finding four leaf clovers. I tell people that it really is not that difficult. But they don’t believe me. I used to have a book of pressed four leaf clovers… I lost it though.. just my luck !
First off, four leaf clover hunting is one of the most relaxing things I do. I sometimes find myself walking along a path and spot a patch of clovers and just stare and move the leaves a bit with my foot. I totally zone out. Most of the time I don’t find any since the odds of finding a four leaf clover is about 1 in 10 000.
Last night I found 4 in five minutes.
Is there a trick ? Even before I read the scientific research on Four Leaf Clover Genetics, I noticed that the likelihood of finding other four leaf clovers around the one I’d just found was very, very high. Hence… the four I found last night. All within a few inches of each other.
There is also a thing called pattern recognition. When I’m looking for the needle in the haystack, my eyes are moving over the area quite fast… it is easier to spot the odd man out.
So, I’m not one to stop and smell the tulips…. but I do stop and look for special clovers.
was it in a black book
