Early this year I gave myself a wish list of sorts and reading Harry Potter was one of them. I’ve put off reading Harry Potter for the past 10 years even when continually told that I should read it by people close to me. I don’t even think I’ve ever sat to watch a complete Harry Potter movie either.

I wish I had some sort of scientific formula to help me choose what book to read next. I’d input variables such as : current mood, last book read, food cravings, what I’m wearing, if I prefer coffee or tea… and out would pop the title of my next read. TaDa !!

I have a soft spot for coming of age books. For The LOVE of MARY is THE feel good book of the year. It not only made me smile, it brought me back to when life was complicatedly simple. As my little life rushes on at a crazy pace, getting lost within the pages of For the LOVE of MARY was wonderfully nostalgic.

… Alchemy being “a new to me thing”, everything was alien and I didn’t know the rules. For example, here in my reality red and green make yellow. CHECK. However in the world that Cynthea Masson created, you are going to get something completely different and most likely unexpected. Things work completely different there… and often they blew my mind.

I have a few books that are on my nightstand and/or carried around to read but I’ve recently discovered the joys of audio books. I was quite reluctant to give it a go but I bit the bullet and am finding it marvelous to get some extra reading time in while doing other things… Like driving, while on my stationary bike or baking !!!
